Is Java widely used language?

Java is an object oriented, class based, general purpose language.It is widely used strongest technology and secure programming language .Java is a platform.A platform is  any software or hardware environment in which a software runs , java has run time environment (JRE).
         Java was developed by Sun Microsystems, according to Sun 3 billion devices using java here listed out some as follows:

  1. Desktop Applications such as acrobat reader, media player, antivirus, etc.
  2. Web Applications such as irctc.co.in, javatpoint.com, etc.
  3. Enterprise Applications such as banking applications.
  4. Mobile
  5. Embedded System
  6. Smart Card
  7. Robotics
  8. Games, etc.   
      There are Four types of applications more using Java Programming is listed below:
         
      1.Standalone Application: Desktop applications or window based applications are known as Standalone applications where we can install these applications on window based operating Systems and also known as traditional software e.g media player,antivirus etc..  To creating standalone  application we can use java.

       2.Web Application: An application that runs on server side(using internet) and creating a web application we can install these applications on web server in any Operating System e.g.online forms,shopping carts,spread sheets,video & photo editing,gmail,yahoo etc...

       3.Enterprise Application:An application that is developed according to the business purpose is known as Enterprise Application e.g.customer relationship management,banking services,google drive,mail chimp etc...
